Pembentukan Kelompok Parenting di Kelurahan Ngedukelu sebagai Wujud Perlindungan Hukum bagi Anak dalam Upaya Pencegahan Kekerasan Berbasis Toxic Parenting

Abstract

Child abuse within the family remains a concern, particularly when associated with toxic parenting practices. Limited parental understanding of positive parenting and child protection laws may cause verbal, emotional, and physical violence to be perceived as part of the parenting process. This community service program aimed to establish a Parenting Group in Ngedukelu Village as a forum for education, mentoring, and strengthening community participation in preventing child abuse. The activity was conducted on March 20, 2026, at the Ngedukelu Village Office Hall, Bajawa District, Ngada Regency, involving 25 participants from community and village government elements. The program employed participatory and educational approaches through socialization, counseling, interactive discussions, parenting skills development, group formation, and evaluation. Evaluation was conducted through discussion, question-and-answer sessions, and observation of participants’ engagement and understanding. The results showed the establishment of the Ngedukelu Village Parenting Group and its organizational structure, supported by an official decree issued by the Village Head, as well as the development of a group activity plan. This program represents a community-based preventive effort to strengthen positive parenting practices and child protection in Ngedukelu Village.
