Abstract

Community-based tourism managed by Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) often faces limitations in administrative and financial record-keeping capacity. A similar condition was found at the Tubing Tourism site in Blimbing Village, where financial recording relied primarily on the treasurer, resulting in limited understanding among other administrators. This community service program aimed to improve Pokdarwis administrators’ understanding of basic administration and simple bookkeeping. The program employed a participatory approach through a site survey, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), module development, training, and hands-on bookkeeping practice, involving 15 administrators on 8 August 2026. Program success was assessed through improvements in pre-test and post-test scores and participants’ ability to complete a cash-book practice. The evaluation showed that the average score increased from 6.20 to 8.33 (0–10 scale), representing a 34.4% increase, which was statistically significant based on a paired sample t-test. All participants successfully completed the cash-book practice based on the given transaction simulation. The findings demonstrate that the training effectively improved administrators’ understanding, while the module provided can serve as a reference for more systematic and orderly financial record-keeping.
